"Where do we stand after 450 years in a long debate on whether Shakespeare of Stratford was identical with the author of Hamlet ? "..
Nowhere this attempt has been made. The media and academic refusal of a treatment of the Shakespeare authorship problem was almost absolute.
Contrary to this attitude of an "academic Expertise" [and their "media sympathizers"] that have long regarded the problem as solved, you may not reasonably expect that the debate about the authorship of Shakespeare will disappear. One can predict that an increasingly educated population won't be fobbed off in the future with the sheer size of "→implausibilities" relating to the man from Stratford.
Only a satisfactory, "science-oriented" solution (s. →example) of the Shakespeare authorship mystery should lead to a slow erosion of the Stratford Dogma and eventually bring the debate to its disappearance .
