Paul Edmondson on a →"Shakespeare Oxford Authorship debate" , organized by the English Speaking Union (ESU) June 2011 on the occasion of Emmerichs film "Anonymous" among other things made 3 notable statements which have etched unforgettably in my mind:
1) Edmondson "Any actor will tell you that Christopher Marlowe's´mighty line is that of a different writer:[compared to Shakespeare] "
How could he reach such a "stranded" conclusion ? There are only a few actors who ever played Marlowe. Why did he elevate "any actor" to a literary key witness? Experts agree that "Edward II" , or "Hero & Leander" (Marlowe) and "Richard III" or "Venus &Adonis" (Shakespeare) are virtually identical in terms of substance, style and artistic level.
2)Edmondson: "The Suggestion that de Vere was able to release 14 plays after his death in 1604 including one coauthored with Thomas Middleton and another coauthored with John Wilkins and 3 coauthored with John Fletcher beggars belief"
Does Edmondson really beleive that the author of Hamlet was a "teamplayer" at all ?
3) Edmondson "Perhaps there is material for a Holywood Sequel showing that Shakespeares collaborators were also front men for aristocratic geniuses"
Edmondson mocked at the Oxfordian idea of Shakespeare beeing a frontman , by adding additional "established" poets as frontmen (Middleton ,Wilkins, Fletcher). He has not yet noticed, that his suggestion - according to → the advanced Marlowe Theory- approches the historic truth (s.Quiz Nr..5,52 (Middleton) Quiz 67 ,68 (Wilkins) ......xx Fletcher ( in preparation) ... ...................)
