The author Thomas 's Wunsch concluded in his long →Article "Marlowe and Shakespeare" on April 27-2014 in the Nation-wide weekly Newspaper " →The Friday " that worldwide media reports on the occasion of the celebrations of Shakespeare have been outbidding each other in their mindless idolatry and he makes an attempt , to take Shakespeare down from his pedestal.
[Translat. from German] " The importance that Marlowe had for Shakespeare is really hard to overestimate , ..... It was the personality Marlowe with their dangerous unpredictability that seemed inspiring to Shakespeare and his work gave decisive impulses and opened new perspectives. "
But where did he actually know that Marlowe and Shakespeare were "fundamentally different" in temperament , and yet "spiritual Brothers", that remains a mystery; from their works he can not deduct such conclusions, the Shakespeare expert →Jonathan Bate saw "Richard III " (Shakespeare) and " Edward II (Marlowe) literally as congruent in style and content .
When Thomas W. concludes that it may be "very helpful", while thinking about Shakespeare to take a closer look at Marlowe, one has to be aware that he himself has long since ceased to waste a closer look to →newer results and →theories about Marlowe/alias Shakespeare. What a shame!
